The National Council of New Zealand Wool Interests Incorporated is the official New Zealand member of the International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO). The main objectives of the Council are to:
- foster wool production in New Zealand and promote the interests of the wool textile trade and industry in New Zealand
- to preserve its reputation locally and internationally, along with the interests of its members
- to act as the NZ member of IWTO and to act in furtherance of the objectives of IWTO.
This website includes relevant local and international industry news as well as Council and individual member contacts. All documents pertaining to Council activity will be stored in the Member Login area.
Chairman’s Report from National Council AGM – 26 August 2022
It wouldn’t be a year in review without acknowledging upfront the ongoing challenges and supply chain issues that Covid continues to present to us all. Despite this, the pandemic has brought about a re-set in the way people live and operate globally. Herein lies the opportunity for us all, as now more than ever is a time for wool to be part of the solutions for our changing world as we grapple with climate change and shifting from an extraction manufacturing-based system, dominated by man-made synthetic materials, to one which is far more renewable and circular, with natural fibres playing an increasingly important role.
